ISFSI Live Fire Fixed Facility Credential

Course Information

The Live Fire Instructor Credential Program is a unique blend of distance learning and intense 3-day hands on academy focusing on the responsibilities of instructors charged with the important safety duties of a live fire instructor.

This course is based on the NFPA 1403 Standard on Live Fire Training for its content and references Live Fire Instructor Principles and Practices by Jones & Bartlett as its text. Students will complete an extensive online course prior to the hands on portion and will challenge a series of written and practical examinations to earn this 3 year credential.

Who should attend?

Training Officers, Instructors, Officers and Firefighters who are interested in making a difference in the creation and execution of safe and controlled live fire training.

Student prerequites:

  • Must be an AHJ credentialed Firefighter II and AHJ credentialed Instructor
  • Minimum 1 year as an Instructor
  • Signed letter by Fire Chief/Training Officer of represented department verifying these aforementioned prerequisites
    (must be submitted with registration)
  • Successful completion of online pre-course examination
